The card game Blackjack has been around for what seems like centuries and is certainly an all time favourite for players around the world. It is known as an exciting fast paced game where the object is to either hold a hand that is the sum of 21 combined or be the closest to 21.You can join to play best at blackjack tables on many online sites to try your hand.

There are many different combinations nations that can be used to achieve this total but it is by no means as simple as 1 plus 1. �Your goal is essentially to beat the dealer so you win the bet. The game can be played with up to 5 players and you can receive the following hands.

Hard Hand

This term refers to a hand where Aces are not used, however if an Ace is played it has the value of 1 and not 11 as it not able to be both.

Soft Hand

With this hand an Ace can have the value of either 1 or 11 giving the player a higher chance of beating the dealer. For instance, if a player has an Ace and a 10 his hand will total 21 which is an immediate win.

The Game starts by placing a bet, once this is done the dealer will hand out 2 cards to each player including themselves, 1 facing up and 1 facing down.

Blackjack 21

Essentially Blackjack 21 is when a player receives an Ace and a face card on the first deal and will immediately win with blackjack

Hit

As the whole object is to make 21, if you are short you can ask to be hit with another card hoping that they do not go bust by exceeding the limit of 21. If exceeded you will automatically lose the game or as they say, �bust�.

Stand

If you do not want to take another card this is referred to as a stand and that is the end of your turn.

Double Down

This is when the player doubles their bet amount; however they are only permitted to take 1 more card in the round.


Insurance

If the dealer has dealt himself an Ace, the other players can request to take insurance. This is basically a side bet on whether the dealer has a blackjack. This bet has an even return however offers a high house edge and beginners are urged to not take an insurance bet.

Surrender

This option allows players to lose only half of their bet should they be under the impression that they will lose the hand. Be aware that many online casinos do not actually offer the surrender so be sure to check.
