5 Awesome and Fun Browser Games to Spend Some Time Away On!
Everyone knows that video games are just the best. The ability to take you into a whole new world full of characters, settings, and creatures that are from your wildest dreams is just amazing! But, you, unfortunately, can't always play those favorite games in your library.
So, what is the greatest solution to this sad sad conundrum? Well, browser games of course! Browser games are a great way to waste some time, or simply have fun! They can run on almost any system, so nobody needs to feel left out if they have a subpar system.
Now, there are quite a few browser games to choose from to say the least, so how does one pick through the pile and find the best ones? Well, that may be quite difficult. So, here are some great browser games that anyone can play!
Kingdom of Loathing
Kingdom of Loathing sits in a rather unique spot as a browser game. This is because it is not like many other browser games. Many games you may think of are simple flash games or the like that don't really have much depth to them. But, Kingdom of Loathing is anything but that!
Kingdom of Loathing is a point and click semi text-based adventure game that is kind of a spoof of many tropes and ideas in common RPG and fantasy games. It takes things you would know and puts a goofy spin on them.
For instance, the fun begins with simply making your character! You will see puns in the classes such as pyromancer and sorcerer. The in-game counterparts to these classes are ‘Pastamancer' and ‘Saucerer' respectively. It is little jokes like this that certainly make Kingdom of Loathing a funny and enjoyable experience.
With a lot of laughs and a goofy story, you will definitely find some excitement in this incredible browser game. And just like most browser games, it's free! However, it will definitely leave you feeling like it was made by a company you had to buy it from.
Cookie Clicker
It is incredibly hard to make a list of awesome and fun browser games for wasting time on without mentioning Cookie Clicker. It is one of the most classic browser games there are and many students will undoubtedly have an unfathomable amount of cookies made up from all those times they spent in a separate tab ignoring the teacher.
But, for those of us who don't know, what is Cookie Clicker? Well, it is exactly what it sounds like. It is a game to click and get cookies! Ah, but it is not quite so simple as it may first seem to be!
You may start off by clicking for cookies, but as you go, you will be able to purchase and use many different things to aid you in collecting cookies. For instance, you can get auto clickers that will click to get cookies for you!
There are also structures you can buy to make cookies. These range from goofy things like grandmas who bake cookies, to time machines that will bring back cookies from before they are eaten! All of this is to make you the greatest cookie collector of them all!
Now, why is cookie clicker so great? Because it doesn't take any focus! You could be waiting for something to download or load, or perhaps you are waiting for an email from your boss or teacher, or whatever it is you want to do. But, with Cookie Clicker's simplicity, you will no doubt be able to spend that time free of boredom!
Slither.io
Slither.io is another great browser game that no doubt most people have heard of. It made its rounds of being in vogue but has now somewhat fallen out of fashion. However, that does not at all mean that it is by any means a bad game.
In Slither.io you play as a snake. Or maybe a worm? And you have to eat little dots to get bigger. The goal of the game is simple. All you have to do is try and become the biggest snake, or maybe worm, on the map.
As a worm or snake thing, you have an ability at your disposal. You can press a button to go super speed. This will make you much faster, but will also slowly lower your score like fuel. This will make you smaller, so use it sparingly!
Now, it is not as simple as it seems. If you run into the tail of a worm, or maybe a snake, then you die and people can eat the dots that drop and become bigger. This is an incentive to try and go after other players, but they will also be trying to come after you!
Agar.io
Next to Slither.io, Agar.io was also another extremely popular game. That is because it is just so simple, yet competitively fun and addicting. It has also fallen out of vogue but is still a rather fun game if you need to spend some time away because there are still plenty of players online.
In Agar.io, you play as a circle. As you go around the map, your goal is to collect as many tiny little circles as you can. This will make you grow bigger and bigger until you are the biggest player on the map.
But beware! The other players will be coming after you! If you eat another player, you add their score to yours! So, it is very valuable to consume your fellow players and increase your size much quicker.
There is a slight problem though. You can only eat another player if you are bigger than them. So, you must make yourself big quickly, so you can keep up with the other players. If you do not, they will consume you without mercy and you will be out of the game.
Now, there are some cool tricks you can do in the game. To start, when you are small, you can hide inside spikey green circles hidden around the map. These are big enough to cover you, but if a larger circle goes onto one they are split up into many smaller circles.
Those circles can then in turn be consumed by another player that is larger and they will be out of the game once all their circles are eaten. Don't worry if you are split though, as your circles will rejoin back together after a short time.
Rubble Trouble
This game is an oldie but a goodie. It is one of the classic flash games found on Miniclip. It is wonderfully fun, and you will enjoy every minute you play it. But with Flash shutting down, it's better to look at one of its modern alternatives.
The goal of the game is simple. All you have to do is destroy the buildings you are told to. In order to do this, you will be given many tools.
These tools can range from anything like a regular explosive, to a carpet bomb, to a helicopter, to a missile launcher, to even a giant robot Godzilla that shoots lasers! These will all be useful in destroying the buildings you need to.
However, it is not always easy. Sometimes you will have to protect people that are trapped on the building by making the building collapse gently. Other times you will have to protect neighbouring buildings from damage.
These challenges can be quite tough at times. I remember playing once, and being stuck on a level because you really have to plan ahead! You may have to carefully remove a girder from the building you are destroying in order to protect a building next to you so you can continue the razing.
It is truly a fun and simple challenge that at times can feel like it should be a proper game like you might find on Steam. There are a few versions of it like Rubble Trouble Tokyo, but they are all fun and worth a try!
